Week # 16
November 24- 28, 2014
Feeling Worthless


My Accomplishment/s:

         This week I did not have any rated lesson plan because most of the subject matter scheduled for this week is more on performance based task like logo making, essay writing, poem writing and many more. My critic teacher decided to take over the class and she let us do the checking and evaluating of students' output. She asked us to choose the best in every category to represent their class during the competition that was held every lunch break. This week also we were able to fix our schedule for the rated demonstration with our Supervising Instructor. This give me the chance to know my schedule in preparation for the things I need to do before I will do my rated demonstration. I also had my pre-conference with my critic teacher for our rated demonstration which give me an idea and ways on how to improve my lesson for a better learning and teaching. I also help in facilitating and accompanying the student for every competition hold during their lunch break.

My Significant Experience/s:

       Going to school is quite stressful when you cannot teach, for almost two weeks I didn't had any rated demonstration I felt like its not worth the time I am attending my class. It feels like I am worthless sitting and talking around. I arrive at school 7 am in the morning and ends the day at 5 in the afternoon without even seeing my students and with experiences that I had I learned to use my time in a productive way. I learned to plan and prepare for things that I need to do. i learned to explore and make my day productive without me teaching, before when I had my classes, after every class I just relax and sleep, but now that I don't have any classes for me not to be bored I learned to organize, read and comprehend the subject matters in my course.

My Insight/s

          A teacher without the students is useless. This week I came to realize this statement given the fact that for almost two weeks I never entered in a classroom, and its quite depressing not only because there is no assurance that I cannot finish my rated demonstration but the idea that I was not growing as a future teacher. I felt useless and worthless being a bystander in the attic for almost two week, with this I realize that a teacher will never and can never be a teacher without her/his students.

My problem/s

        The problem I had this week is that I did not have any rated demonstration. I am not sure if I could still finish my rated demonstration. I  am also worried about my rated demonstration with my Supervising Instructor because I cannot think of a method and strategy on how to present my lesson wherein we were asked to teach the poem entitled Tao Te Ching with 81 stanza. and its quite hard and challenging on how to present one third of this stanzas in an hour with quality.

My Solution/s:

           We talked to our critic teacher, and asked her if we could facilitate the quiz of our students on December three in addition to our rated lesson and thankfully she allowed us. We also talked to her and suggest ways on how we could attain and finish the ten rated lessons. In our topic for the rated demonstration with our Supervising Instructor, we decided the student teacher of Mrs. Viernes to discuss ways and methods on to present our topic. It is a very good move because we were able to come up with which we think an effective way to do it.

My Goal/s for Next Week:

           For next week  the only thing I want is to deliver my rated lesson with my supervising instructor effectively. I want to leave a good impression as a teacher that my supervising instructor could be proud of, wherein if we could meet again after this semester she is able to remember me with that impression. One more I also want to add at least two rated lesson from my critic teacher.

Week # 15
November 10 - 14, 2014
Looking for Something Good to Do


My Accomplishment/s:

           This week I did not have any rated lesson because the school is celebrating the English month, and the subject has been affected. All the subject matter scheduled for this week was more of skill and performance based so our critic teacher opted to handle the class for the whole week but of course we were not left with nothing. Our critic teacher tasked us to check the Bio poem and essay of our students and recorded it further more after the checking we were asked to choose the best writer of the said activities to represent their class for the competition that was hold during their lunch break, wherein we were ask to facilitate and look over the students.

My Significant Experience/s

           This week it seems that most of us was experiencing the same scenario because of the line up of activities of the students. Its quite unusual this week because most of us were all in the attic, unlike with the past few weeks that you cannot even have a little chit chat with your table mate because we are so much busy doing and preparing for something. One afternoon while we are all so noisy having nonsense conversation, my co major proposed a game for us. It was originally planned to be the English group only wherein we prepared a tongue twister and spelling activity but then other majors volunteered to join so we had the activity per major and it turned out to be fun and fruitful because we had learn new vocabularies. We did not only had the spelling but other major also posed their question which the other major answered, and with these it was agreed upon that we should do that more often to serve as our informal review in preparation for the examinations.

My Insight/s:  

        Having a rated is not the only way to learn and be a productive student teacher sometimes it can also be in some other ways like having a group discussion about the subject matters that before having your rated demonstration. It could also be in a form of educational games and activities like the one that I stated above,with I realize that learning comes in many way its just up to us how to accept and deal it.

My Problem/s:

       The problem I had this week was that I was not able to teach any lesson, I just stayed in the attic doing what my critic teacher ask me to do, but of course a whole day was too long for checking. I was so useless and I felt so useless doing nothing. It also worries if I would be able to finish the ten lesson before the last day that we will be staying at the school.

My Solution/s:

       We always made sure that we ask our critic teacher for something else to do. We ask her what we could do while we wee not entering our class.During my free time I find time to talk to my co major and asked them their topic  and at least I ask questions and argue with them about their topic. In that way at least even though I am not teaching I am still learning and updated of what was happening. We also ask for lesson from our critic teacher, and at least she assured us we will be able to finish the ten rated demonstration.

My Goal/s for Next Week:

       For next week I wanted to have at least three rated demonstration, for me to stop worrying and thinking twice if I could still finish the ten rated demonstration. I'm also looking forward for our informal review that I may share and learn something relevant. I also set in my mind not to get late and absent for any reason.

Week 14

Taking the challenge

My Accomplishment/s:

This week my accomplishments were first I had deliver two lessons got to work with my group mates for the making of our lessons. Second I worked with my co- English majors to plan  on how to decorate the stage for the English month culminating activity. Third I checked the assignments of my students. Last I record the outputs of my students, that includes their three seat works and three assignments, wherein we were task to pick the most beautiful output to be a representative for the competition.

My Insight/s:

The way you feel about yourself greatly affects your performance. I realize this this while having my rated lesson, every time I enter my class I felt like a I cannot deliver my lesson properly , it always feels like it was not enough specially when your dealing with More mature people, and every time I feel this way everything I do turned our to be really not enough.



My Significant experiences

What was good this week was I got to be more exposed to my students that give me the chance to be at ease and be comfortable with them that I badly needed to perform well ,with this I learned to also believe and be more confident that I can do it. I learn to adjust and accept my insecurities and start taking another challenge that would help me to grow.

My problems

The problem I had this week was I have more free time than time  for learning. I just taught for an hour twice in a week,after I am left idling with so much talking about anything, I always felt like I am not a productive student.

My solutions

We ask for a work and something else to do from our critic teacher. I discussed with my co students teacher about their. I asked questions and explanation about their topics for me to at least learn and be productive student even though I am not teaching.

My Goals for Next week

The only I want for next week is to be more productive, and deliver at least three lessons for me to have a productive and fruitful week.
Week # 13
November 3 - 7, 2013
Learning to adopt

My Accomplishment/s:

This week I started my first lesson with the 4- matiyaga, and it feels quite different handling the fourth from the grade seven that I handled in the public school. This time it requires lots of time, effort and mental abilities because the subject matter is more difficult than that of the grade seven, and I am so thankful that I was able to do it with satisfaction, with the two lessons that I demonstrated I can say that I did good according to my assessment and that I think is the best accomplishment I had during this week,furthermore I also checked and record the outoputs of my students. 

My Insight/s:

The attitudes of every students affect the strategies and methpds ofthe teacher. When I was with the fourth year students, I waa given the chance to compare them with the grade seven whwn it comes to their attitudesand learning styles and its quite different. The grade seven is more of the playful type and it affects the waOy thwy lopk at education so the strategies is more of a plyful type also so as to address their meeds through presemting what interests them,as of with the ffourth years it is more of a mature type so the aactivities and strategies is more of hpow would they develop mentally.

My Significant Experience/s:

This week I got to meet my new students, and I consisered this as my sgnificant ezperiences because this is another oppuetunity for me to learn ans develop my capabalities as a teacher and as aperson. It helped me tp appreciate thevalue of adaptation and being versaile.

My p4oblem/s:

The only problwem I encountered this week was being so nervour everytime I ahave a class. Ot affects the way I perform in fromt of my stufdents.

My solution

The only I could thonk of tp overcome this is to beliece in myself with all that I do.

My Goaals for next week

It is ro overcome my nervousness and deliver more lesson.

Week # 12
October 27 - 31,2014
Another Environment



My Accomplishment/s

        This week was our first week in the Laboratory High School, for the first two days we were ask to fix our quarter in the attic. We were told to have our orientation on the first day but since the principal is busy with the coming of the PAASCU for the school accreditation we were not able to have our orientation, so what we did was to plan and discuss on what to do and in how to decorate our areas to have a comfortable working area. On the third was the day we had our orientation with the principal, during the orientation we were reminded of the things and the standard operating procedure that was relayed to us during our orientation when were observers. Right after the orientation we met the learning area coordinator for the assigning of critic teacher, and I was assigned under the supervision of Mrs. Viernes, furthermore during this week I also compiled all the requirement needed from our stay at the public school.

My Insigth/s:

         Moving from one place to another is one way of  learning on how to develop what you have. Staying at the public school is quite different from staying in the private school, but one thing is for sure there is always something you can have before the day  end. If I learn how to deal with different students with different attitudes and learning styles in the public school I learned how to control and be observant of the things and differences of the two school.

My Significant Experience/s

      This week we were able to have the orientation with principal and it is quite good because I was able to remember the thing that I need to remember while having my practicum with the students of the Laboratory High School in addition to that I  was given the chance to meet my my critic teacher and finally formally start our stay there.


My Problem/s:

           The problem I had this week was that my mind was not yet settled to stay and start with another environment and work with different administration.

My Solution/s:

            With this problem I had the thing that I did was to really put myself in the situation, to accept that there are thing you need to leave and there are thing you need to face despite of what you feel towards it.

My Goal/s for Next Week:

     The only thing I like to happen next week is to finally start to teach effectively my students and to learn from them.
